International Women's Day

Senate Kickoff

Announcing My Candidacy

Cecil County LDD

Attended a wonderful Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by the Cecil County Republican Central Committee on Thursday at Woody's Crab House in North East. It was a beautiful summer evening, and included a great update about Republican accomplishments from Congressman Andy Harris. What a lovely celebration of the Republican Party!

In Dundalk

Dundalk1.jpgSo much patriotism in this community that has given so many sons and daughters who have protected Baltimore County, our country and our international interests. At a number of homes I visited, I saw used military and work boots used as planters -- what a thoughtful way to recycle these resources, using them to create beauty.

And thanks to all who, when I told them I was a Republican running for the US Senate, said "You have not only my vote, but all the votes of my family members too." My message of hard work and new ideas really resonated here.

When the door knocking was over, I had the opportunity to visit my family's Memorial Day BBQ in Rosedale. Here, I am pictured with my cousin who is an avid hunter (and was the first family member to donate to my campaign!).

Asian American Festival in Potomac

AsianAmerican1.jpgDumplings, music, and children's games! Spent a wonderful evening at the Asian American Festival in Potomac last night. The crowd's concerns about education and traffic are consistent with two of my core principles for running -- to the extent the federal government is going to give states and localities part of the 3% of the federal budget spent on education, we want to make sure Maryland communities are front and center as recipients; and we need an advocate in the US Senate to help Gov. Hogan get the transportation dollars we need to fix our state's transportation issues that MD Democrats have long ignored.

In Washington County

Funkstown, Maryland, in Washington County, is beautiful! I was honored to speak to the Washington County Republican Central Committee last night at the American Legion in Funkstown. Great topics were covered -- from the Second Amendment to legal theories about the amount of deference that should be given to governmental agencies. I also learned quite a bit about the need for more funds for the Sheriff's department and the desire to bring more jobs to Western Maryland. Given the wonderful people I met last night and the beautiful pictures of the town I took, it should be an "easy sell" to convince businesses that this is a county to consider when expansion is needed!

LD-16 Meeting

Attended the MD LD 16 GOP meeting to discuss the month ahead. Heard great information about the Hogan campaign and early voting. Speaking of voting - a template ballot was distributed last night -- now, we just need people to vote on June 26 for the candidate who will best represent the values of the Republican Party as we show Marylanders that there is a better way than Cardin's representation!

Polish Spring Festival

Spent a wonderful afternoon at the Holy Rosary Church Annual Polish Spring Festival in Baltimore City! Met so many Maryland voters who are ready for change in their Senate representation. I love the positive response I get when I engage people about the energy and ideas I will bring to ensuring the strength of Maryland's families and economy. And as a first generation Polish American, spending the afternoon with so many people who share my values of country, church and family was very gratifying. Don't forget -- early voting begins June 14 and the primary is June 26 (and if you need to register to vote or to switch to the Republican party, now is the time!)

"Let's Talk Politics"

Had a great evening at Nancy Griffin's "Let's Talk Politics" last night in Potomac, MD. Heard from great local Republican candidates about their ideas for improving Maryland. I will be one of Nancy's "featured speakers" at the next event she is hosting in June. Nancy -- thank you for hosting these wonderful "meet and greet" events for MoCo Republicans who are interested in learning more about the issues and candidates!

Down in Calvert County

My lucky day! I got to spend lunch with the Republican Women of Calvert County at their monthly meeting at Mama Lucia in Prince Frederick. What a wonderful group of women -- they asked great questions about my motivation for running and experience and also gave me suggestions about different groups I need to reach with my message of stronger, more energetic representation for the people of Maryland! In the realm of "it's a small world," I also met women who were patients of my father-in-law, Dr. S. Grigorian, when he was a practicing doctor at PG Hospital Center (he has been retired for 15 years). They loved him so much that a few of them didn't care what I had to say -- it was "love by association!"

Lunch Honoring Yumi Hogan

Honored to participate in the Maryland Federation of Republican Women's Lunch honoring Mrs. Yumi Hogan. What a wonderful First Lady for the State of Maryland -- Mrs. Hogan is kind, thoughtful and a tremendous ambassador for Maryland!

Frederick County Lincoln-Reagan Dinner

Enjoyed celebrating with the Frederick County Republican Party last night at their annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner! Larry O'Connor and Diana Waterman were funny, edgy and provided great insights into the all-important 2018 election cycle!

Meeting with Steve Schuh

Had a great meeting with Steve Schuh, the current Anne Arundel County Executive. I learned more about ways the federal government can help the residents of Anne Arundel County. AA County residents, regardless of political affiliation, are very interested in preserving the Chesapeake Bay and its related waterways. Regardless of whether your political affiliation is "red" or "blue," Marylanders' love for the Bay makes all of us "green!"

Spending the Day in Perry Hall

Spent time today with active seniors in Perry Hall. The day was glorious and so were their spirits! We had a productive discussion about their perceived lack of representation in the U.S. Congress. When I am elected to the U.S. Senate, everyone will know they have a passionate advocate in their corner!

With the Chevy Chase Women's Republican Club

Great meeting with the Chevy Chase Women's Republican Club board -- these women are active and incredibly supportive of their member candidates! I enjoyed talking about my platform and why Maryland needs a new direction in its Senatorial leadership!
